Speeding tickets have more penalties than just the fine and can affect you for years to come. If you pay the ticket, it goes on your driving record and insurance for three (3) years, and can have the following additional penalties:
- any ticket for more than 15km/h has demerit points.
- a speeding ticket on your driving record can affect your insurance rates.
- novice drivers (G1 and G2 Drivers) are suspended for any speed over 29km/h
Novice drivers receive a thirty (30) day suspension for any speeding ticket over 29km/h and/or four (4) demerit points. Class G drivers face licence suspensions at nine (9) demerit points.
