Police officers can issue careless driving tickets when;
- An accident has occured
- A private complaint is made about someones driving, and
- The officer observes a manner of driving that they believe is driving with out due care, or
- The officer observes the driver, driving without consideration for other drivers,
- The officer observes a number of driving infractions
Normally, a police officer may consider giving a careless driving ticket where they observe three (3) or more driving infractions.
